"But... I did not quit."
28th February, 2010; 11.30am is a date and time that will remain etched in our memories for a very long time to come. It was on this bright Sunday that eight select EoT graduates from the Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow program at Dhriiti, along with two Dhriiti facilitators met with one of the greatest men in India – Dr. Verghese Kurien. These students embarked on a journey to Amul in Anand in order to understand the cooperative movement and Amul’s entrepreneurial genesis. As we stepped inside Dr. Kurien’s corner house in Anand, we were overcome by a sense of calm and humility that he radiates.  Known to Indians as the Father of the White Revolution, Dr. Kurien shared with us his life experiences and various incidents that occurred during the rise and spread of Amul. While he shared some of the challenges of that time, he said with great conviction – “But…I did not quit.” It is with this sense of determination and integrity that we all filed out of his drawing room, feeling most empowered as we had a few interactive moments with a living legend. This meeting, very significantly concludes the entrepreneurship training for the year of2009-2010 and marks the new beginning as our EoT graduates launch their entrepreneurial futures.
